Questions people ask

When is Tiffin Stage Two for 2027 entry?

Tiffin School gives Stage One on 2 October 2026, Stage Two invitations on 16 October 2026 and Stage Two on 12 November 2026.

What is Tiffin Stage Two like?

The school's 2027 FAQ says the Stage Two tests assess English and Maths, are similar in length to Stage One (about 40 to 60 minutes a paper), need handwritten answers, and include some longer written English answers.

Who marks Tiffin Stage Two?

The FAQ says Stage Two is marked by Quest, using English and Maths specialists.

Should he start before the invitation arrives?

Invitations come on 16 October 2026, less than four weeks before Stage Two. Starting written practice after Stage One on 2 October gives about six weeks instead of four.

Method

  1. The plan counts the days from today to the published Stage Two date and places sessions only on the days you pick, never longer than the time you give.
  2. It opens with a timed paper in the weaker subject, marks it against the model answers in the next session, then practises the one skill that cost most, before the other paper.
  3. The weaker area comes from the written maths question when it is missed, otherwise from the part you say felt harder.
  4. Timed papers use 60 minutes, the top of the school's 40 to 60 minute range; on shorter days they become half papers.

Uncertainty and limits

  • Tiffin publishes illustrative questions, not past papers, and says question types, numbers and timings change each year.
  • One question is a small sample: it shows where to start, not a full diagnosis.

What the answer means

The plan is a schedule of practice sessions to the test day. It is not a score or a chance of a place. It cannot say how Stage Two will be marked or what score is needed; the school does not publish either in advance.
