The policy gives noon on 2 September 2026; the page introduction and FAQ say 1 September. The school says its policy takes precedence. Exceptional late cases are for the school to decide, with supporting evidence.

Two stages, different demands

Official test FAQ

Stage One

Around 2 October 2026

English and maths, recorded on a computer-marked answer sheet. English uses multiple choice; maths can include numerical answers.

This stage decides who is invited to Stage Two. The FAQ gives about 40–60 minutes per test, not a fixed paper length.

Stage Two

Mid-November 2026, by invitation

English and maths with handwritten answers, including some longer English responses.

The FAQ describes a similar length to Stage One. The school changes its bespoke tests each year; examples are not past papers.

These are Tiffin School tests. Tiffin Boys, Tiffin Girls and Sutton SET have separate admissions arrangements.
