Tiffin Boys scores: can an Atom SAS predict a pass?
No. A practice-provider SAS of 104, or any other score, cannot be converted into a Tiffin School pass or offer prediction. For 2027 entry, final ranking weights Stage 2 English at 50%, Stage 1 maths at 20% and Stage 2 maths at 30%. Stage 1 English still matters for progression.

Understand what the weights mean

The policy gives English and maths equal final weight, with the maths contribution split between Stage 1 and Stage 2 in a 2:3 ratio. The 50/20/30 view is arithmetic derived from that rule, not a raw-mark conversion.
Worked example A weighting illustration
Original teaching example. Imagine a simple weighted index using already comparable standardised component scores. If Stage 1 maths rises by 10 points and everything else stays fixed, how much does that index rise?
Why this works: 10 × 0.20 = 2 points in this illustrative index.
Why the tempting route fails: It does not follow that ten extra raw answers raise the school score by two. That would need the actual standardisation process and cohort information.
Atom, a tutor or independent practice?

The school works with Quest on its bespoke tests and links an Atom support route for verified Pupil Premium pupils. Follow that official link to check eligibility. A commercial connection is not evidence that practice questions reveal the live test.

Ask for a written total covering the period you need, renewal and cancellation terms, and any extra charge for written feedback. We do not publish unverified prices, coupon codes or a ranking of tutors.

The policy’s Priority Area is within 10km. Allocation also has specific priority and aptitude rules. Check the full entry-year policy rather than treating a practice score or distance estimate as eligibility confirmation.
What Tiffin has published for 2024 to 2026 entry

Switch between the stages. Each figure keeps the school's own label, because an offer-day score, an end-of-year cut-off and a practice score are three different things.
How many boys sat each stage. The percentage is simple arithmetic on the school's two numbers, not a pass rate the school publishes.

- For 2024, 2025 and 2026 entry, every place went to boys living inside the 10 km Priority Area. No places went to boys outside it.
- The school marks the 2026 cut-off score and appeals as "tbc": the 2026 cut-off is only known after the waiting list closes at the end of Year 7.
- Pupil Premium offers include any offers later declined. The school began reporting them for 2025 entry.
The school calls the table guidance only: the number of applicants and the whole situation change every year. A practice score from any provider cannot be placed on this scale.

- Around 15 or 16 October 2026: whether your son is invited to Stage Two. No scores for boys who are invited. Source
- Boys not invited to Stage Two receive their Stage One scores. Source
- After National Offer Day (early March 2027): standardised scores go only to boys not offered a place. Source
- The waiting list runs from 1 March 2027 to the last day of the 2027 to 2028 school year, ranked by the selection criteria, ties by distance. The lowest Combined Score admitted by then becomes that year's cut-off score. Source
Questions parents ask
What was the Tiffin Boys cut-off score?
Tiffin's own table gives a cut-off score, the lowest Combined Score offered a place by the end of Year 7, of 102 for 2024 entry and 98 for 2025 entry. For 2026 entry it says "tbc", because the waiting list is still open. The lowest score offered on 1 March was 104, 100 and 100 for 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Is a Tiffin score of 100 enough?
It was the lowest score offered a place on 1 March for 2025 and 2026 entry, and every place in those years went to boys inside the 10 km Priority Area. That is history for those cohorts, not a pass mark: the school standardises scores for each year's candidates.
Can an Atom SAS be converted into a Tiffin score?
No. Tiffin works with Quest on its bespoke tests and does not publish any conversion from a practice-provider score. A practice score measures a different test taken by a different group.
When do Tiffin parents get their son's scores?
Boys not invited to Stage Two receive their Stage One scores. After National Offer Day, standardised scores go only to boys who were not offered a place. Invited boys get no scores in October.
